Berry Merry

Hello and hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Mine was full of good cheer, and kept me very busy. Sadly, that meant a lack of consistency with my blog posts. But I am back, and I already know what one of my New Year's Resolutions will be...let's just say you can look forward to more frequent posting! I thought this outfit was a great mix of laid-back and dressy and easy to wear to all the events of the season. I chose this soft and understated sweater so that this beautiful skirt could steal the spotlight. This look also features one of my favorite fall/winter trends- a berry lip!

I'm still loving these gorgeous stilettos (last seen HERE) as they are stylish and surprisingly comfy. Besides trotting off to holiday festivities, I have been curling up with one of my favorite Christmas presents this year- a Kindle gifted to me by the boy. Just finished reading Divergent and moving on to the next book in the series, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I would love to know any reads you've been loving!

Gunmetal

Been obsessing over this gorgeous faux leather trimmed jacket and these pointy toed flats, so I couldn't resist styling them both together! It's FINALLY starting to feel like fall here in the Bay Area, so I took advantage of the gorgeous foliage and snapped a few shots. To contrast against the beautiful vibrant leaves, I decided to keep my outfit mostly monochrome with shades of grey that are broken up by some texture and pattern.

During our trip to Europe this summer, my mom snatched up this to-die-for Prada purse in Milan, and I was lucky enough that she let me borrow it for this outfit! It's a classic beauty, and the perfect finishing touch. I had been on the hunt for a great pair of pointy toed flats, as I adored the pair I purchased in London but they were a smidgen too tight and I was dying if I tried to last a whole day of walking in them. My wishes were granted when I stumbled upon these by Dolce Vita! Streamlined, extremely comfortable (they have padded soles!), and the perfect amount of point, I was sold. And I purchased these on sale with an additional coupon off of Piperlime! Needless to say, these will be on my feet all throughout fall.

Dark Neutrals

Hey guys, happy 1st of November! I can't believe how fast October sped by, and much to my delight, the weather here is finally starting to cool down! I can't wait to bundle up in coats, chunky knits, and infinity scarves. But for now- I decided to do a quick outfit post of an ensemble I wore a couple of days ago. My style is pretty eclectic, so after the more girly/preppy post I did last time, I felt like going a little darker.

Believe it or not, these colors pretty much used to dominate my closet. I've always loved color, just not in my clothes. My first love had always been neutrals. But I've been getting better and better at integrating color and fun prints into my style, and I love sharing that with you all! In other news, I have been loving all the Fall TV premieres, all things pumpkin, and fox anything! I also got a haircut, which will debut in my next post. Something new to the page are those cute little widgets on the top of my right sidebar! Click on them to easily find and follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Bloglovin'. Thank you all for the support!

Pattern Play

Hello friends! Yikes, has it seriously been a MONTH since my last post? Much apologizes, but the time has been flying by lately! I have exciting news- I have a new job as a stylist at Stitch Fix! If you don't know what that is, it's basically a personal styling site that allows you to create a style profile and then a stylist (that's me!) picks out 5 clothing items/accessories for you that's delivered to your door! It's not based on a subscription fee, so it's free to sign up until you decide to order a fix. Ask me about it if you want to know more :) You can even request me as your stylist! Now on to this outfit inspiration- I've been totally digging mixing patterns lately, and this outfit is the result of that obsession! Pattern play is surprisingly not hard to pull off at all, and I toned it down a notch by adding neutrals such as my beige booties and chambray.

The result is a fun fall look that's effortlessly chic and cozy! And guys, how cute is this polka dotted sweater?? If you follow me on Pinterest you know I've been pinning all sorts of polka dotted pieces lately, so this sweater is right up my alley. I promise to be more regular with my posts from now on, especially since Fall is my absolute favorite season to dress for :)

Paris Je t'aime

It has always been a dream of mine to visit Paris, and my wish was finally fulfilled as I traveled to multiple places in Europe, including Paris, these past two weeks. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful architecture, romantic ambience, and delicious food. My first day in Paris was a eventful and extremely memorable one. First I visited the river Seine and strolled along the riverbank, basking in the perfect weather and lovely scenery. This was followed by a delectable lunch at a cute little crepe shop, window shopping, and finally the majestic Eiffel Tower at night. Paris, you definitely did not disappoint.

I wanted to match up with the sophisticated and fashionable city that is Paris, but still be comfortable enough to last a whole day of exploration. I settled on my trusty chambray button-up, breathy leather skirt, and a statement necklace. To top it all off, I added these gorgeous black and snakeskin flats I picked up in London, and fuschia lipstick to boot. You may have noticed that I'm wearing flip flops in a few of these pictures, and I'm guilty as charged. But hey, every smart style savvy girl keeps an extra pair of shoes in her purse on vacation, right? Right.
Paris, I'm coming back for you one day!

Floral Attraction

NEWS FLASH: liked reading my blog? Please follow it as I am now on Bloglovin!

Did some exploring on the train tracks recently, and loved how the linear industrial looking background contrasted with my ladylike floral wear for the day. I love this dress I got at Urban Outfitters for a number of reasons- its length for my tall frame, its silky material, and the darling scalloped hem and cut out back detailing. I know this is one item that I'll get a lot of wear out of not only during these last days of summer, but add some tights and a jacket and I'm set for fall!

I'm usually not a lipstick wearer, but I thought this outfit called for a fun one. Wearing this bright shade made me feel like a different person- one I'd like to revisit once in awhile. Next week I'll be leaving for a 2 week vacay in Europe, visiting the beautiful cities of Rome, Venice, London...etc. Keep a lookout for outfit and food posts as I adventure through Europe! Come travel with me.

Summer Solemates

I don't know about you, but I am a shoe fanatic. The perfect accent piece or exclamation mark to an outfit, a great pair of shoes never fails to add that little extra oomph. As summer is winding down, I found that I have been reaching for several pairs of footwear again and again these past two months, and I wanted to share them with you! I present to you- my summer solemates.

From left to right:

1) Gladiator Sandals from Baker's:
- These trendy lace-up gladiators were a great find I snatched up around 2 years ago, and have forgotten about in my closet. Luckily, I did some cleaning this summer and rediscovered them! Still in great condition, and I've been having a lot of fun pairing these with maxi skirts and fun accessories. An interesting piece to add to any summer outfit.

2) Tildon Stiletto's from Nordstrom:
- Truly a pair of heels to drool over. The interesting geometric structure, fresh white coloring, and height without discomfort- what else could you want in a heel? I adore these for an edgy yet classic twist to any outfit, particularly to dress up a nice pair of jeans and a bright top. Last worn here.

3) Custom Nike IDs
- A birthday present from the boy, and much appreciated! Only thing better than working out and staying fit is to look cute while doing so, and these great kicks are the perfect motivator. I picked out the colors myself, and you can even customize the logo to your liking. Mine say "Beast" on one shoe, and "Mode" on the other! Make your own here.

4) Nude Sandals from GoJane
- Obsessed with nude everything this summer, footwear included. These classic beauties go with everything, and the ankle strap gives it that extra trend factor. Last worn here. Want your own? Get these lookalikes here!

5) Report Ellenton Sandal
- Featured on my Summer Favorites post, these trusty pair of sandals have been my go-to this summer. The sturdy and comfy leather and the touch of glitter make these the perfect touch of casual chic.

Hope you all enjoyed! What are your summer solemates? Outfit post soon :)

The Long and Skort of It

Sorry for the long wait between posts! I have been extremely busy with the events of summer, and finally got some free time to do an outfit post. This one is easy breezy and perfect for the long hot days of summer. Keeping the silhouette interesting with a Zara skort and sheer top. Add on some killer wedges and I'm all good to go!

Normally I am not a fan of the skort- it always seemed to me as the confused lovechild of a skirt and a pair of shorts, and I would have chosen both the latter over it. However, I was won over when I saw this Zara skort- the interesting geometric silhouette and comfort level made me a convert. No longer reserved for those embarrassing elementary school years- the skort is making a comeback!

Current Favorites

Lately, there have been some beauty and fashion favorites I've been reaching for time and time again, and I wanted to share some of them with you!

1. "BB Does It All" Styling Spray by Bumble and Bumble
- The name says it all. This spray really does everything, including eliminating frizz, adding shine, and turns my at times unruly locks into soft and touchable hair ready for any additional styling! I love this magic in a bottle, and it has been my hair savior for those hot and sometimes humid summer days.

2. Cutout Black Tank by Therapy
- A good quality black tank goes a long way, and I've definitely gotten great wear out of this one. The material is lightweight and comfortable and the chic yet tasteful cutout detailing makes transitioning this piece from day to night a breeze. Pair it with a great high-waisted skirt, boyfriend jeans, or fun shorts, this top goes with everything! A summer wardrobe staple for sure.

- I am a sucker for cute packaging, so when I saw this adorable blush, I had to try it out. Luckily, the quality of the blush lives up to its cute exterior. It actually has 3 different shades of pink, and I usually just swirl my brush in all 3 before applying. The result is a nice glowy flush that does not look too caked on or fake. I love the boost of natural color it adds to my face!

- I adore polaroids, so I was such a happy camper when the boy gifted me with this a few years ago. After all that time, the fun still hasn't worn off. I love this one because it's relatively compact, and easy to tote around to events. If you don't currently own a polaroid or don't have the cash to purchase one, no worries! I found an awesome alternative, a website that turns your Instagram photos into polaroid lookalikes. And all with free shipping. Click out this hidden gem here!

5. Delicate Gold Jewelry
- Although I do own some great silver pieces, I'm usually a all gold errthang girl. These pieces, a watch bracelet, a wire rose ring, and a wishbone necklace, are all pieces I've been wearing constantly this summer. Watch by Francesca's, Necklace by Tobi, and the ring is by a good friend of mine who is a creative and talented jewelry maker who just started her own Etsy page! Check out her creations here

- Last but not least, can you say perfection in a sandal? Comfortable and sturdy leather sole, gorgeous tan coloring, and that standout black glitter strap! It's no wonder I've been wearing these to the ground ever since I got them for my birthday. A great pairing with maxi skirts/dresses, cropped jeans, anything and everything. Helps to have shoes that put a spring in your step.

What are some of your current favorites? Comment them below, I'd love to hear. I'll be away this weekend in Sonoma, but look forward to an outfit post next week!

Until next time,

xx Lucy

Summer Haze

Summer heat has been no joke, and I adore white and other light colors for the scorching weather. I snagged this dress up at Marshalls for such a deal, and I love pairing it up with my more expensive pieces for a polished and fun summer look. There's an open field not far from my house, and I just had to take advantage of the gorgeous lighting and go frolicking in the grass!

What colors do you love for summer? How are you dealing with the summer heat? Leave comments below, I'd love to hear. And a big thank you to all those reading- I am more than happy to share another piece of my life with you all!

Next on the blog: some of my current beauty and fashion faves will be featured. Keep reading!
